"The Main Course"

My Wife's Main Course - Short Ribs

Grilled Asparagus and Onion Rings

Chicken Liver Pate

Seafood Starter

Tonight is "date night" at the Wowee Zowee household. We're going out for a romantic dinner. :-) The restaurant is a "steakhouse" so I shouldn't have any trouble finding plenty of delicious LC food options to choose from.

I'll report back with all the details and hopefully some pictures as well.

Update: Our date night/belated birthday dinner was incredible. This year, I asked my wife not to get me any gifts for my b-day. I just wanted to have a romantic dinner with her - at some new and interesting restaurant instead.

Well, my wife knows I love rib eye steaks. So, she arranged for me to try one of BLT Steak's famous American Wagyu steaks! This is the most decadent of all cuts of meat. It's incredibly rich and you can cut through it like butter! Mmmm. Wowza! This was the first time I've ever tried it. It was truly an amazing experience! What a treat! What a great birthday gift, right?!

11:00 am

+ The Wowee Zowee Meal Replacement Shake - 2 oz of organic heavy cream, 4 oz of purified water, 3 scoops of natural vanilla whey protein powder, 1 scoop of Amazing Grass Chocolate Green SuperFood, 1 tsp organic instant coffee, a pinch of pure stevia, and 1/4 tsp of Also Salt)

2:00 pm

+ 3 "turkey tacos" - 3 thin slices of organic smoked turkey breast topped with organic cream cheese and organic broccoli with shallots (all folded over like a taco)

4:15 pm

+ a shot of organic espresso

7:15 pm (pictured above)

+ a few tbsp of chicken liver pate (the "amuse bouche") - no bread, of course

+ assorted raw seafood - a shrimp, a clam, a muscle and a crab leg - a few dabs of spicy, creamy mustard sauce

+ a American Wagyu Ribeye 12 oz and marrow bone (with a Roquefort sauce) and grilled asparagus

+ a bite of short ribs

More to come ... I hope.

Looks like a wonderful meal. Although expensive one..hehe That is one cool thing about living in Japan, I can eat Wagyu(translates into Japanese Beef) a 1/3 to 2/3 cheaper than I can in the states albeit still expensive..

The biggest problem is Japan likes their steaks really thin.. so I get a craving for a nice thick cut Ribeye every now and then.. hehe

Howdy, Low Carber.

Fortunately, we had the option of ordering "American" Wagyu. Since it isn't imported ... it makes it much cheaper than it's Japanese relative. :-)

Still, it was plenty pricey. It may just be a "once in a lifetime" kind of meal for me. :-)
