104th Giorno

Update: I just saw David Mamet's newest film, Redbelt. I liked it a lot. It kind of flew under the radar when it came out last year. Anyhow, for what it's worth ... I recommend it.

I went walking this morning and an amazing thing happened ... I actually got that "happy feeling" runners often talk about. Maybe it had something to do with pushing myself a little harder than usual. I upped my speed somewhat and therefore increased my overall "distance" accordingly.

I plan on taking the weekend off and then resuming on Monday with a slightly more intense workout. I think I'll probably try to bump up both the incline and the speed. How much? I'll allow my body to tell me what feels right. I certainly don't want to hurt myself or burn out. I want to do this in a smart way that will allow me to stay with it for the long term.

Today I walked the equivalent of 2.52 miles. My speed ranged from 3 to 3.5 and my incline remained at the 2 level. As usual, I used my walk to the gym (and back) as my warm up and cool down period. Walking to and from the gym was also really cool today. Not many people were out and about and the weather was beautiful - sunny but cool.

Note: The shake tastes even better with the Jay Robb protein. It feels like I'm having a treat.

6:00 pm

More to come ... I hope!

If anybody could run marathons Harry I believe you could. You've got that great mind set that what ever you believe you can do- you do it. Great job!

Thanks for the vote of confidence, Jo!

I often think of life as a marathon. We're all (hopefully) in it for the long haul. So, I guess I am running a marathon after all! :-)

I hope you have a fantastic weekend!
