We're settling back in. We have dinner plans tonight with my old boss. Our plan is to meet at a local Italian restaurant. It should be pretty easy to pick out an LC meal. Still, I'll check out the online menu and look before diving. :-)

PS - In case some of you don't know, one of our LC menu blogging friends, Vadim, is having a (potential) medical crisis in his family. Please keep a positive thought for his Mom and family. If you'd like to send over some encouragement, please visit his blog and let him know how you feel.

Danke!

I dont know what to say! You Sir are the epotomy of what a human being is all about or at least the best of us should strive to be. I thank you from the bottom of my heart! My mother is the glue of our family and she is going through hell at the moment. She was strong, robust, energetic and upbeat woman. Now she is fragile, vulnerable and at times lifeless. Needlesse to say it greatly affects me as well. My mom has been my best friend all my life. She has experienced some flank pain for the past 4 months with on and off fever. So finally she agreed to check it out and the results were shocking. There is 1a 11.5 cm lesion on her liver with few smaller ones next to it and four small lesions on both lungs. Her CEA( tumor marker) is 447, where normal range is 0-4. So at the moment we are all waiting for biopsy and praying and looking for miracle. But if it is indeed cancer, it is stage 4 and it could be very long and difficult struggle of chemotherapy/ But what kills me the most is to see her give up. She doesnt want to fight if its cancer. She has been through a lot in the past with two other cancer in ten years.

I cant wait to read and experience your wife's journey as well. Plus how much is it to have your significant other follow you on your journey! It will be fun and exciting to have her blog about it i am sure.

Vadim,

My heart truly aches because of this news.

I can only tell you that you all will be in my prayers and I'll happily try to help in any way possible.

Please do your best to take care of yourself in this most difficult time. I'm sure that can only help your Mom - to not have to worry about you.

Stay strong and know that so many are hoping and praying for the best possible outcome for Mama Vadim.

[Hugs] from both me and my wife.

To Mr and Mrs Wowee Zowee! Incredible - but really no use eating all that gourmet chef food all by yourself, Harry!
Again, I'm glad you're home, safe and sound.

Bayoubabe,

I haven't heard from Pooti either. I've tried her sites - also to no avail.

Unfortunately, I don't have her e-mail. Maybe someone else on here does.

I know she sometimes posts comments on Jimmy's menu blog. I just haven't seen any from her in awhile.

Thanks, Jo!

I'm very happy to have her on board. We went out to dinner tonight and it was really cool to approach the meal in a similar way. I think it will helps us both!

I'm always happy to share!

Thanks for your friendship and support, Anne!

harry do u think its ok to have coconut milk on induction,i found the lite with only one carb per tablespoon ?

Harry/JP said...

Cilla,

Coconut milk is a very healthy food, in my opinion, but not allowed on the induction phase of the Atkins Diet.

Small amounts of heavy (cow's milk) cream are permitted however. That may be a good substitute until the induction phase is over.

Course we're sending our best wishes to Vadim, Harry! But this is such a kind gesture -- I think you might have made Vadim speechless!

Harry and all- I got my big butt whipped at JM's blog once. Such comments some people make! :(
But the point is, though it all, I ran into Stargazey. She might be able to help you with your quest.

Harry/JP said...

Erika,

I figured most of you already knew what was going on. But I do somewhat subscribe to the "power in numbers" philosophy. So, I thought I'd just make sure everyone (who visits here) knew. :-)

Vadim, speechless? Never! That's just wrong! :-)

Harry/JP said...

Anne,

Let me know if you ever need any back up on JM's menu blog. That can be a rough neighborhood!

I've seen StarGazey's comments before but I'm not sure I've visited her(?) blog. Is that what you're suggesting? If so, I'll most certainly do so. :-)
