What kind of sauce were the scallops cooked in?
I really have to learn how to cook them as I think I might like them.

I've never been to the East Coast in either Canada or US. You mentioned Vermont cheese ... or is that too easy?

If you click on the photo, to enlarge it, there is a UFO (unidentified!) near the horizon. So I'm guessing ...Roswell, NM.
But all the fresh sea food, and the fishing boat thingy, I would say you are filming for The Deadly Catch in some "back east" fishing village..Plus the UFO kinda looks like a whale breaching!

Fit,

We sauteed them in olive oil and butter. In the sauce we added garlic and shallots, lemon and white wine.

It's super simple to cook scallops. The key, in my experience, is to get the pan sufficiently hot (medium-high on our stove) and to make sure not to crowd the pan. If the pan is overly populated ... the scallops tend to steam, instead of sear.

The Vermont cheese was indeed a clue. You're in the right part of the world. :-)

Anne,

UFOs follow me wherever we go. :-) Kidding ... as far as I know. ;-)

Your "back East" comment is in the right neighborhood.
