Winner, Winner Salmon Dinner

The Purple Tongue Maker

I just picked up a copy of Dr. Wayne Dyer's newest book, "Excuses Begone!". Perhaps there's some wisdom to be had and practical advice that's applicable to my life. I certainly do have a lot of excuses to choose from. :-)

I recently TIVO'd a special about this book and haven't watched it yet. I guess I should stop making excuses to not watch it. LOL

I love Dr Dryer! I have his power of intention cd and recently bought change your thoughts change your life program. He is a funny, witty and kind fellow! Your smoothie looks incredibly healthy and sounds yammy too. I am working on starting a video blog or video journey of some sort even for myself. I wanted to do it for the longest time and its time to close the loop. I just ordered the youtube friendly camcorder so its a go. May be in a week or so I will post my first video. Oh boy!

A welcome surprise in a low carber's day...the happy berry family! And a bonus-- a purple tongue!

That's the spirit, Penny! :-)

I've only seen part of his most recent special but it was quite engaging and inspirational, I thought. I hope you feel the same once you "stop making excuses" and press play! :-)

You know what they say, Anne. A family that eats berries together ... can stick purple tongues out in unison at those who piss them off. I think that's an old adage belonging to Socrates.

Another great menu! How long did the salmon and mash plate take to put together?

I think I need that book, too. I recently joined a gym and now I have these big mental battles with myself about going. I have a million excuses. What it all boils down to is I don't "feel" like going. Jonny Bowden says that if you wait until you "feel" like it you will never go. I made myself go this morning. I need the strength training and once I get there I am fine. But man, I get exhausted from the mental battles within myself. P.S. The salmon and cauliflower looks great. :) jade

Erika,

The salmon is a snap. Maybe 10 minutes total. No fuss cooking.

The cauliflower takes a bit longer but doesn't require much attention. Maybe a total of 20-30 total cook time.

Believe me when I tell you these are simple dishes. Otherwise, I wouldn't be making them! :-)

Thanks, Jade! I can relate to your struggles. My "natural" inclination is to remain rather sedentary. How did I get this way? Ugh.

This reminded me of one of my favorite quotes:

The only person you have to compare yourself to is who you've been. The only person you have to be better than is who you are now.

I'll start reading Wayne's book today. I'll review it soon on my HF site and give updates here on my on going impressions.

I hope your weekend is a winner. Looking like triple-digit weather here! Help!

I didn't know you made them - I thought your wife made them for you. Did I remember wrong? Oops!

Erika,

It depends on what our schedules are like. I've learned to become a little more independent as my LC path has progressed. The best part is that my wife enjoys most of the LC foods I make. That's helping her to get healthier too! :-)

I think we have the same dishes.

I bought that book as well but I just don't have the time to read it as I'm too busy reading blogs.
That's my excuse anyway. hehe
I enjoyed it actually.

I like your simple dishes. They're simple. :)

my word verification 'charn'.
so *close* to being charmed. damn.
