Lamb Sausage and LC Mash

I want to take a moment to share my basic diet philosophy with any of you that may care to know it.

Personally, I try to structure a diet that ...

1. ... I can stick to and enjoy for the most part.

2. ... is generally composed of natural, health promoting foods and supplements.

3. ... allows me some flexibility for special occasions - like celebrations and vacations. This will come into play more so once I reach my goal weight.

4. ... affords me quick and easy (read: convenient) and satisfying snacks and meal options. Things that I can turn to whenever I feel like straying < --- which still happens from time to time.

I'm sure that many of you have noticed that I often use meal replacements. This isn't an issue for me because it helps me to stay on program. The ingredients I use tend to be natural, nutrient dense and organic. Therefore, I believe that they make an adequate, though perhaps not optimal, replacement for a whole food meal.

Apart from avoiding added sugar and starchy foods, I also make it a point to ban artificial colors, preservatives, sweeteners and hydrogenated oils from my menus. I'm mostly successful in doing that. That's about it - though it's subject to change. :-)

11:45 am

+ LC Mocha Ice & Cream Shake - 3 ice cubes, a few ounces of organic heavy cream and 4-6 oz of purified water, 2 scoops of Amazing Grass Chocolate Greens, 2 scoops of Country Life Greens and Whey, 1 scoop of organic sprouted flax meal, 1 tsp of organic instant coffee, a splash of organic vanilla extract, stevia and Also Salt - blended up using my handy-dandy immersion blender

2:45 pm (pictured above)

+ 3 lamb sausages (from Whole Foods Market) on a bed of homemade mashed cauliflower

5:00 pm

+ a cup of organic, black coffee with 1 packet of organic stevia/inulin

7:30 pm

+ a few ounces of raw, aged Gruyere cheese (appetizer)

+ spicy catfish fillet (from Whole Foods Market) on a bed of homemade mashed cauliflower

More to come ... I hope!
