Howdy from Texas - alot of people I know drink Red Tea - Rooibos is the current rage. Hope YOUR day is FINER than FINE!

With good reason! Rooibos is a really interesting and health promoting brew. It may even be particularly helpful for those with blood sugar issues.

Back at ya! :-)

Thanks for the link - It's cool that you can use the spent Rooibos tea on your skin. I use coconut oil on my face. I like it better than any lotion!

Yeah, got to make the most of things you know? I do the same thing with my used white tea bags :-)

I can't seem to make the coconut oil absorb well enough. Maybe I should give it another shot. Ironically, I'm using a skin lotion that has a coconut fatty acid base. I just assumed that the other ingredients must be helping to drive in the moisture.

Thanks for letting me know what works for you. It's inspired me to experiment with the coconut oil once again. I know it's healthy stuff, to be sure.

Hope you don't mind me jumping in here. I've been doing a lil experimenting with CO myself. I have been using it on a regular basis (in my morning coffee)for months. When I first starting taking it I notice almost immediately that the dry cracked skin on my right foot was starting to get better and eventually healed altogether. I'm not sure why, I've been to the doctor, used several different prescriptions, nothing seemed to help much. Since my foot seemed so much better and I was trying to cut a few calories I stopped using it 5/23, but I noticed tonight that my foot is getting very dry and cracked again. I have never used it very much topically (kind of a once in awhile thing if I did).
Isn't that amazing that just by ingesting the CO it helped that much?
I'm back on the CO tomorrow.

Glad you jumped in, Jo. :-)

That's an interesting observation about CO. If I were to guess, I would suspect that the benefit you found was either due to the fatty acid content of CO or perhaps an anti-fungal effect. CO is a powerful anti-fungal. Problems with "skin cracking" can be indicative of minor fungal issues ... some believe it has to do with a variety of fungus called "candida albicans".

Thanks for letting me/us know about this!
