You are increasing your exercise routine, thats awesome. How do u like it so far? Is it still a joy to do or is it getting more like chore. Be careful, I know you have a tendency to be a perfectinist and dont increase it to the point where it stops being enjoyable. But then again, you know fairly well.

Nice to hear from you, Vadim. :-)

"Like" and exercise are rarely included in the same sentence by me. ;-)

Seriously though, even with all the (treadmill) walking I've been doing lately ... I'm still not in the best shape. I thought maybe adding a few simple exercises, that are compatible with walking, might be a good next step.

The truth is that it's hard for me to psych myself up for the exercise and it feels rough during the exercise. But I do feel better afterward. It's a lot like many things in life.

Exercise can be fun! I love playing group games, such as soccer, basketball and such. It is both competitive and social. I personally like weight training much better than aerobic, especially when I am angry or have a lot of energy. I am a screamer too, lol, when I am angry. So I would be one of those nuts that screams lifting weights. People stay away from me, lol. They think I am marking my territory by screaming. One girl asked me if I scream to release negative energy. I replied " Its a russian thing" All russian scream because of genetic predisposition. I told her that back in Syberia this is a way to show who the boss is. She actually beleived me! Nice girl, too. But I am a nice guy though andf eventually told her the truth. She was still impressed. I do scream to psych myself up and it does give me a boost!

LOL! I wonder how my follow gym goers would react to me screaming while on the treadmill? :-) Would they believe it's an Italian thing?

Vadim said...

lol, they would! As a matter of fact there was a study done in Socialogy Magazine I beleive that studied Russian tmeperament to other European nations. And the results werent shocking. Out of all Europian nations, Italy was the closest match as far as temporament. Russia is considered Eorasia but people that reside there are neither or, they are totally different species! But Italians closely resemble and Italians are just as emo=tional! But if you screamed while on a treadmil, I dont know about that. Never seen that before, but hey whatever motivates!

There's a first time for everything, Vadim!

From this point forward, I shall be known known as Screamin' JP! :-)

I'm going to start increasing my exercise levels too. If you have any tips for psyching yourself up, I'd be really interested to hear them :)

Hey that's really interesting about Russian and Italian temperaments being the most similar. I definitely found the Russians I came across while I visited Europe were the most huffy, but I also thought it was mostly for show. Maybe I'm right, maybe I'm wrong.

Whaddya think, Vadim?

Erika,

I have one word for you with regard to psyching yourself up:

ChocoCoffee

Okay, so maybe it's not a real word! :-)

Seriously though, the added energy boost of that drink gets me going - if I take it about 1/2 an hour to an hour before exercising.
