Back home. We had a fun and relaxing time away. A few days of R&R at a beautiful new place on the coast. I'll post a few pictures shortly.

11:00 am

+ a cup of black coffee

+ scrambled eggs with provolone cheese and rustic bacon (thick sliced and heavily spiced)

2:00 pm

+ an LC Coffee Protein Shake - I've reintroduced a few tablespoons of organic, sprouted flax meal into my shakes the past few days. I feel like my digestive system could use some added support.

5:00 pm

+ a cup of instant, organic black coffee

7:00 pm

+ thinly sliced tri-tip beef

+ roasted red peppers and fresh Burrata cheese

Thanks, Fit!

I guess you could call it a Honeyphoon. I have to go through our pics from the trip. I think there's a fitting one there ... if it turned out!

You have a beautiful wife... but I'm sure you already know that. :)

Anyway, is sprouted flax meal the same as golden... and does it um help with digestion like cabbage would?

Thanks, Nancy!

I blend flax seeds up with my protein shakes/smoothies. It adds little flavor and considerable nutrition to them. I usually add about 1-2 tablespoons worth per serving.

Ooops! You're right, Erika! It's not a "Honeyphoon"! We've been together for 10 years (married for 5). :-)

Trips tend to turn my brain upside down - more so than usual! :-O

Angie,

Sprouted flax can be from golden or brown flax seeds. It basically is just flax seeds that are germinated in order to improve their digestibility and nutrient content.

In terms of promoting digestive health ... flax seeds are rich in fiber. So, they can work as a gentler version of a fiber "supplement". The cool thing about them is that they impart certain health benefits that most sources of fiber don't - due to their naturally occurring omega-3 fats, phytochemicals (mostly "lignans") and vitamins and mineral content.

This is the one I use but I know there are other brands out there.
