The guy so nice we had to name him twice!
Thanks, Anne! I like that better than the "multiple personality disorder" explanation. :-)
In-cog-NEAT-O!
I heard that there is a HUGE difference between salmon that is farmed (corn-fed) and wild salmon. Wild obviously being the better option. Is this true?
I enlarged the photo and now I'm hungry.
I think that's generally true, Angie.
There are different ways to farm salmon. But, for the most part, the wild variety is believed to be healthier because they eat a natural diet that promotes higher antioxidant content in their flesh (in the form of the pink carotenoid called astaxanthin) and they aren't treated with antiobiotics.
Dr. Weil does a pretty good job of covering some of the issues involved:

PS - We got tonight's wild salmon from Trader Joe's. They've got excellent prices on frozen salmon. It pays (or saves) to shop around. :-)
Just found you...cannot wait or the menu tomorrow...hints about whats on it?
Irene
Just checking in to say hi! the salmon and mashed cauliflower looks yummy. :) jade
Welcome, Irene! Good to have you here. :-)
I'm not sure what's going on today menu-wise. It's a busy work day for us both. So, we'll have to see how it plays out. We're in "wait and see" mode.
I think my wife is heading to the market on her way home tonight. She may end up picking up something that's "ready to eat there". Maybe roasted chicken and some broccoli salad?
Thanks, Jade! :-)
I hope you're doing well!
