I rely on meal replacements a lot when I'm really busy.

You know, you can always make a "hot cocoa protein shake". Delicious! ;-)

PS - I'd happily swap our heat for your coolness. I've always liked the cold, overcast days better. I'm funny that way. :-)

Harry I love my lc coffee protein shake, too!
And guess what - AVOCADO!

One day we should get all crazy like and try combining the avocado with our coffee shake. It might sounds nutty but I used to know a lady who would add an avocado into her Atkins' shake mix (and blend it up). It kind of makes sense ... it's creamy and pretty neutral tasting. Plus, it's a nutritional powerhouse.

The thing is, I enjoy eating avocados so much ... I'd hate to lose that pleasure. Still, it might make for a fun experiment.

I'm with you on that one, Harry..I'm an avocado purist...from way back...

Harry, I buy avocado paste from Trader Joes. Its basically pure avocado, sea salt and one spice. Taste awsesome and I use it a lot. It is $3.99 for two packages and claims to have used up to 6 organic avocados in each package so it is 12 avocadoes basically for $3.99 and it is made in Mexico. Love it, love it, love it.

That cheese looks GOOD! Do you use whey protein powder for your shakes?

Sounds like a triple-winner, Mr. V. Affordable, delicious and healthy! Good find!

Angie,

I typically use whey protein. But lately I've switched to egg white protein in shakes that contain berries. The reason why is that having berries and dairy together may nullify some of the antioxidant protection afforded by the fruit.

So, for non-berry drinks, I'm currently using Jarrow's Unflavored, All-Natural Whey Protein. For berry shakes, I use MRM's Natural Vanilla Egg White Protein.

PS - The cheese was really great. This particular variety states that it was aged 4-6 months. It had a really rich and complex flavor. Very satisfying.

I've added avocado to my protein shakes ... adds a creaminess and fatiness that makes it stick longer.
I only add a 1/4 of one. It tempers all the fruit I think.

I will definitely be jumping on board the coffee protein shakes after my little health blip here.

My last name IS an avocado!
No wonder you guys love me
:D

I tried to no avail to find Egg white protein powder here in the I'm not Bitter North.

Fit,

Even decaf coffee has many of the same health benefits - just not the energy kick of course. Not sure if that might be more appropriate for your current program.

I buy 90% + of my supplements online. It's just so much easier to find just about anything you could possibly want. The prices are often up to 50% less as well.

BTW, the best tasting Egg White Protein I've tried is by MRM (the vanilla flavor). Some brands just aren't very tasty, IMO.
