Giorno Ventisette

My Hearty, Spicy Vegetable Soup

I made it through the day. It's about 10:45 pm as I type this.

The holiday/farewell lunch was stressful and uncomfortable but well-intentioned and not without it's high-points. As you'll see, I opted not to eat anything at the event. I know that probably sounds strange. But, we met at an arts-and-crafts kind of place called, "Color Me Mine". The whole concept behind this place is that you pick out an unadorned, un-glazed piece of pottery and you paint it. Then, you leave the painted pottery there. They glaze it in their commercial oven and you pick it up several days later.

Anyhow, as you can tell, there were other things going on besides the food. The food was pretty much an after-thought. My colleagues ordered from a local deli and ate while they painted. I just couldn't stomach that. I was too stressed to pick apart deli food at my painting station. So, I just had a coffee, with half-and-half, prior to the lunch and in the afternoon. Truth be told, there was so much going on I didn't really miss eating that much. In fact, as you will see, I didn't even eat much right when I arrived home. I just wanted to make some hearty soup and breathe a little.

I can't wait for the weekend ...

Oh yeah, today was my weigh-in day. Here are my stats:

Great results, 7 pounds of weight loss is aint bad at all my friend. not a big fan of bioimpedance scale and body fat percentage. They can be very inaccurate!

Harry I have never met you but from our limitted communications so far on blogs you strike me as a very intelligent, caring and objective guy! i love to read your blog and I love your sense of humor and your open mind. Your coomets are very thorouph and thought provoking. At times you expect way too much of yourself, but you cut a lot of slack for others. I have a request for you. I just read Jimmy menu blog and his response to pooti who critisized him on his choices. They kind of went back and fourth and jiimy called her unstable.Pooti does have her own blog and there were other low carbers who readily jumped on Jiimy and called him names as well. So I feel like there is a growing feud with noone willing to give it an objective anylysis. I tried my best. I would love for you to read it and comment. i think jimmy and pooti would definitely listen to your advice more readily then mine. I know you probably have way too many things to do, lol and if you tell me to go find something for me to do I will. BTW I did suggest to Jimmy to interview you on his podcast, I and many others would love to hear you semi-live. HAve ever considered going video blogging? Believe me you I dont redily give people that many complimets, but I do love your analysis and deep thougt provoking questions. You are the great low carb voice and I would love for you to be heard more often and by many more people. It has been a pleasure to have known you and reading your commetaries!

Ok, Harry, I have an update. Jimmy doesnt mind to interview you and he said he likes your blog too. So its really up to you to be interviewed. I dont know how other would feel, but I am asking you to do it. I think you have so much to contribute, you are one of us. You do have a voice now and people even name food aftewr you. Case and point ''Harry burrito" . Sp please contact Jimmy or let me know and he will contact you. We need people like you to be heard by a wider audience. Your apporach is sane, intellectual and very deep. Your attitude is very heartwarming anfd caring. And your experience and researchive data are extensive too. Just say yes please. We need to hear one of us speak in public and share your story, your blog experience, how it changed your life and so on. If you dont go on Jimmy website, I will fly into California and conduct an interview with my videocamera under those beautiful trees you have in your backyard. I am crazy enouph. So make it easiet for me and cheaper if jimmy does it! I really hope you do it, all jokes aside!

Wow! Thanks, Vadim.

Talk about an ego-boost! :) You're lucky my self-esteem naturally runs very low. Otherwise, I'd get a big head from all that praise!

In all seriousness: I really appreciate all your kind words and thoughts.

To be honest I never really imagined being interviewed by Jimmy. I would be willing to do it if he feels like I have something of value to offer.

I'll head over to Jimmy's blog later and see if I can perhaps add a comment or two that may help the feud you mentioned.

My hunch is that things will likely blow over soon. I can't imagine that Jimmy or pooti would be unreasonable for long. We all have our moments. But they don't seem like the type to have an all-out, long-term battle.

Thanks again for adding steam to my cappuccino. :) Your heartfelt comments helped my rough week end strong.

Much appreciated, Mr. V!
