Today was our first full day in Vancouver. What a beautiful city.
There's snow piled high everywhere! It's unusual for Vancouver. Our cabbie, a 37 year Vancouver resident, says he's never seen it this white here. This is the type of weather we never really get in Southern California.
So far, I've been able to make fairly decent LC choices. I think my menus will also improve once we make it to Vancouver Island.
Here's what today looked like so far ...
Sunday - December 28, 2008
11:45 am
+ three-egg omelet filled with bacon, spinach and cheddar cheese
+ coffee with a splash of half-and-half
4:00 pm (pictured above)
+ bacon-wrapped scallops and dry-rub crispy pork riblets (bar food - but LC bar food)
+ a 6 oz glass of red wine (Tempranillo)
8:00 pm (shared meal - pics to come)
+ seared scallops, poached pork belly, creamed leeks, maple bacon froth | |||
+ tuna tartare, asian pear, lemongrass and ginger dressing (only ate the tuna part) + braised lamb shank and creamed kale gratin
