Jerry's Deli Flanken, Harry's Deli Mashed Cauliflower

Last night my wife and I listened to the Jimmy Moore podcast on our lap top. What a trip! It's so odd hearing your voice like that.

The best part of this whole experience is that the love of my life thought it went well. Of all the things I could have hoped for, that was on the top on my list.

Thanks to all of you who took the time to listen to me ramble. I appreciate all your kind remarks, your support and your continued friendship. I hope I didn't bore you all too much.

Even if you didn't listen, I just want you to know that I won't keep bringing this up. It's just kind of a big event in my little pond. Starting tomorrow, the blog will get back to normal. I promise!

J-Day - The 135th Day

Prosciutto & Goat Cheese Tomato Islands

Dear Ladies and Gents,

Several months ago one of our fellow LC menu bloggers (Vadim) made the outrageous suggestion that I should be a guest on Jimmy Moore's podcast show.

If you know Vadim, you know that he's got a heart of gold. I naturally appreciated his vote of confidence but his idea seemed extremely far-fetched. My reservations didn't dissuade Mr. V however. He went on to present my case directly to Jimmy. Soon after, much to my surprise, I received an e-mail from Mr. Moore himself. He actually wanted to have me as a guest on his program! Crazy!

The interview that's posted as today's podcast is the result of these wacky and unexpected turn of events. Please keep in mind that our chat was conducted back in January. That may be reflected in some of my statements (about weight, my exercise routine, etc.). To be honest, I was talking to Jimmy for nearly 50 minutes and I don't recall everything that we discussed. I just know that I had a good time and that Jimmy treated me with the utmost kindness and respect.

I also want to take this opportunity to share with you all another project that I've been working on for the past several months. It's a natural health website that I'm a partner/writer on. It mainly deals with issues relating to alternative and integrative medicine but it also reflects the dietary path I've chosen to follow. The name of that site is: HealthyFellow. I invite you all to visit any time and feel free to participate in any way that you'd like.

Spicy Bangers and Mash

Pepperoni Zizza

I'm making Pepperoni Zizza as I type this. That's pizza made with a zucchini "crust". I was able to pick up some all-natural (nitrate-free) pepperoni at the health food store this past week.

I hope it'll be even more delicious and satisfying than last Saturday's version that didn't include the pepperoni. I'll let y'all know. :-)

Update: The pepperoni Zizza was outstanding! Even better with the pepperoni - no big surprise there, right?! ;-)

Top Round and Creamed Spinach

I wish I knew how and why I felt "up" this past Saturday. I had a good energy about me. I felt optimistic and downright happy. That's pretty unusual for me. Why then? I thought it might've been due to an extended work out last Friday. But this week I've been trying to replicate that same work out and I haven't benefited from a similar psychological perk. Hmmm.

Exercise Stats: 65 minutes on the treadmill + a warm up and cool down walk to and from the gym. Distance: 3.73 miles. Speed: 3.o - 4.0. Incline: 3.0 - 4.5.

I finally brought my IPod to the gym and listened to one of Jimmy Moore's podcasts (with Dr. Volkov). That really made the experience much more interesting and productive. I think I'll do that from now on.

9:30 am

+ The Wowee Zowee Meal Replacement Shake (Version 2.0) - 3 oz of organic heavy cream, 3 oz of purified water, 2 scoops of natural vanilla whey protein powder, 1 scoop of Orac Energy Greens, 1 tsp of organic instant coffee, a pinch of pure stevia, and 1/4 tsp of Also Salt)

1:45 pm

+ an organic tomato, sliced and topped with organic sour cream and soft goat (chevre) cheese

+ sea salt cured pork

3:45 pm

+ a big mug of ChocoCoffee

7:45 pm

Pork al Pastor on a Bed of Mashed Cauliflower

Here's a funny anecdote about my weight loss journey. Recently I had to have extra holes put on my belts in order for them to hold up my oversized pants. Well, I'm on my final hole now and even that isn't enough to hold my pants up when I have heavy items like a cell phone and my wallet in my pants pockets! Doh!

I guess this means I'll need to go shopping soon. Ugh. I suppose there are some men out there that actually like to shop. Sadly, I'm not one of those men. :-)

+ 1/2 cup of homemade organic creamed spinach

Salami Surrounded Tomato Islands

I'm toying around with a new look for this blog. It's a work in progress. I'll likely tinker with the details in the coming days, weeks and months to come. Maybe I'll just change "the skin" every once in awhile.

In other news ... today is a work out day. My LC buddy Vadim is back in town. And I'm going to try to better focus my attention on firming up my diet and life in general. Mental organization ... that's the ticket.

I hope today treats you kindly. :-)

Exercise Stats: Time: 65 mintutes. Distance: 2.79 miles. Speed: 3.0 - 4.0. Incline: 3.0 - 4.0. Warm up and Cool Down: Walking to & from the gym.

Final Update: My stomach's been bothering me for the last couple of days. I've also been a little down. Because of this, I couldn't bring myself to eat a proper dinner. I finally gave in and decided to have something before it got too late - an un-caffeinated, cinnamonized version of my WZ meal replacement.
