It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like ...

2010 Here We Come?!

... my second low carb Christmas! Are the holidays a happy time for you? This past Thursday we went to a "Holiday Sing". A 5 year old girl we're very fond of was taking part in it. It was a wonderful reminder of what the holidays can be. A sea of bright, smiling faces filled the church stage with yuletide glee. The kids were all singing and using sign language in the performance. All types of songs were performed - Christian, Jewish and non-religious tunes. It was pretty special.

We're not really exchanging many physical gifts this year. At least that's the plan in our family. But I do have a treat to share with you all. My lovely wife, who's recently crossed the "15 lb weight loss mark", came up with this one: Low Carb Peanut Butter and Jelly Cookies!

Here's the basic recipe for the LC Peanut Butter Cookies: Peanut Butter Cookie Link

This is the brand of LC (xylitol-sweetened) fruit preserves we've been using: Nature's Hollow

Just add a dollop of any flavor of LC jam or jelly you enjoy on top of the cookie and starting chewing! We've tried their apricot and wild blueberry jams and also their Sugar Free Maple Syrup. Very tasty. :-)

To all that stop by ... I wish you and yours a blessed, healthy and joyful holiday season and a great start to 2010. 2010?! Crazy.

Oooh, I'm going to make some of those cookies. Tell Mad thank you for the idea! I hope you both have a great holiday season too. I'm going to start tackling the mountain of gifts to wrap later today. (loves buying and giving gifts but hates wrapping them! lol)

We hope you love 'em as much as we do, Oct!

We wish you and Cro (and Mama and Papa Oct) all the best for the holidays and in 2010!

Good luck with the wrapping. Maybe do a little rapping too just to mix things up. Have Cro throw down a wicked beat and start rhyming! ;-)

I look forward to seeing your continued success in the upcoming year!

It's been wonderful getting to know you this past year, Oct! :)

Harry, my man I wish you joyous, happy, healthy and full of love 2010! I hope your year has nothing short of an ocean of health, a sea of love. a river of money, a lake of fun and a bay of calm. You are an epitomy of the gentleman and you are such a caring and sharing guy. We all grew to appreciate your inputs, support and advice. And for me to say it all to a man means a lot believe me you. But I do mean it from the bottom of my heart. I would be inconsiderate if I left out your wonderful and lovely wife. I am so happy I once suggested to have you post your pictures. I dont know why you were so hestitant. You both look terrific. But I wish your lovely wife same as I wished you. You are both gems in here. And next time you are in NYC please say hello. I know you are a humble man but meeting you in person over a cup of tea would be a treat if you are in my neck of the woods. And i promise I am just as chatty, open-minded and friendly as I sound, lol. Happy Holidays and I will try to make that recipe out of almond butter.

Thank you kindly, Vadim! You've officially made me evening! :-)

I consider you to be a true pal and one of the most unique people I know - I mean that in the best possible way.

I have a feeling that 2010 will be your year to find your true path - in health, in love and among the palm trees. :-)

You've got a huge heart and so much to give. I look forward to seeing the day when you find it effortless to love and treat yourself the way you deserve. My hunch is that when that time arrives, so too will many other missing pieces be found. I hope that makes sense.

I wish you, your Mom and all your loved ones the healthiest, most joyful holiday season. Onwards and upwards in 2010, Mr. V!

Mad sends her best regards as well!

Step away from the cookies, Anne! Those are for Santa! :-)

So, were you able to stop at just one? Inquiring bloggers want to know!

Random Course Student said...

Oh, yes, just one! I never was a binger.
Atkins said don't stay in induction...I generally stay at 30 carbs or below because I am still losing. Every now and then I go to 50 carbs or more - It's nice, Harry /JP because I never felt hungry or out of control.
I wonder if it was all about the cookie, or the home-made love it represents? A little old lady gave it to me - a patient - aww!
Happy Holidays to the Gentleman of the Blogs (you) and his wonderful Madeline!

Back at ya, Anne! :-)

That sounds like just about the best reason(s) to have a cookie!

Binging is no fun and I'm happy to know you're not part of that club. I used to be but no more! I was lost but now I am found ... at least with regard to compulsive eating. ;-)

Here's hoping and wishing that 2010 will treat you oh so kindly. You certainly deserve it!

We both send you our best! Happy, happy, happy holidays!

I hope you're having an excellent holiday season. We've been enjoying some good quality time with family and friends. Tonight we took everyone out for an incredible dinner at The Palm. It's so easy to find delicious low carb options there. Mmmm. It's a rare treat but an uncommonly tasty one too!

I hope the lead up and start to 2010 treats you and yours well!

Thanks for stopping by. I'm going to check out your blog right now ...
